The long-awaited shoot for my second fiction feature “Kommunioun” (alias “Urwald”) is set to shoot for a little over 7 weeks, in Luxembourg & Belgium.
Director of photography Amandine Klee (www.amandineklee.com), writer Régine Abadia, production designer Audrey Hernu and producer Gilles Chanial (www.lesfilmsfauves.com) are my creative partners - among others - in this rewarding enterprise.
Stay tuned for post-production news, as we will be heading to Manneken Pix Brussels for the edit soon.
“Kommunioun”… is koming!
Wallimage, the much-loved regional Belgian fund that supported many a European success story in the last decade (while also developing the sidebar “Fantastic Wallonia”) have just announced that they said “oui!” to our project. “Kommunioun” is thus steering a few nautical miles further towards completion of financing!
Producer Gilles Chanial of Films Fauves and myself will be at “Rencontres de la Coproduction Francophone” in November (@Luxembourg).
Here is what the good people of Wallimage had to say:
… and in English:
"Last but not least" is a term largely misused by journalists. In the case of “Kommunioun” , to be directed by Jacques Molitor, it makes sense. After "Skinwalker" (by Christian Neuman), of which we saw some very exciting excerpts at the Cannes Borders market last May, Luxembourg offers us a thoroughly enticing genre proposition. It should rather be placed in the category "elevated genre", meaning: genre flicks that deal in filigree with a contemporary societal or psychological issue. Without revealing too much of the plot, this already gives you a small indication of the subject of the film which, if it should keep the promises of its formidable screenplay, will constitute a major addition to our site.

Producer Gilles Chanial and myself were pitching the upcoming horror feature “Kommunioun” (aka “Urwald” / “Protect Us from our Hunger”) at the 2019 market @ BIFFF fantastic film festival in Brussels.
We had just finished our spanking new TEASER, which we got to present on a big screen.
My producer Caroline Piras (of Films Fauves) and yours truly are busy repping "Urwald", aka "Protect us from our Hunger" at the annual Montréal co-production market Frontières.
Here's us pitching! Ready to give the audience a taste of Luxembourgish horror.
Larry Fessenden of "House of the Devil" fame also gave our flyer art the thumbs-up. Graphic artist Jeff Poitiers made those beauties.
I'm proud to announce that my next feature "Urwald", aka. "Protect Us From Our Hunger" has been selected to participate in the Frontières co-production market at Fantasia festival, Montréal. The industry event is held on 20-24th July.
None less than personal idol George A. Romero ("Night of the Living Dead") will also present an upcoming film during Frontières 2017!
The film is produced by Gilles Chanial with Caroline Piras ("Aux Yeux des Vivants") for Les Films Fauves (Sundance '16 for "Mammal"). Shooting is still in the stars, but will hopefully start in 2018.
