Jacques’s new fiction feature “Lizardqueen”, adapted from the novel by acclaimed Luxembourgish author Tullio Forgiarini, has received development funding by Filmfund Luxembourg. Producer Bady Minck of Amour Fou Films had approached Jacques last year with the aim of getting a fresh look at the project, which she acquired several years ago.
“Lizardqueen” is a film aimed at young adults and tells the story of Mona, a recently deceased Gen Z musician who is sent back from the (very bureaucratic) afterlife to elucidate the manner of her death. On that macabre mission, she comes to terms with the joys and formative traumas of her short life, while receiving help from an unlikely source.
“Lizardqueen” is a young, queer, blackly funny and sometimes gory film that dares to break out in song when it feels like it and asks questions about the meaning of today’s life… and afterlife! Shooting is very tentatively set for summer 2025, after an intense casting process!
